VIRUS REMOVAL

We know how frustrating it can be when your computer is infected by a virus. Over the past 3 years we have become experts at the removal of the most common viruses, spyware and malware currently infecting home PC’s.

Viruses can come from many different sources such as infected emails, Facebook/Bebo type websites and surfing infected websites. Most home PC’s have antivirus software installed such as Norton or McAfee but unfortunately no antivirus software can offer 100% protection against these threats. Viruses that slip through the net can be very difficult and time consuming to remove and may involve a combination of specialised virus removal tools and changes to your Windows settings. In most cases we will offer to take your PC away to perform the lengthy removal procedures, that way you do not have to pay for the time it takes to perform each lengthy anti-virus scan. We do however understand that some people do not wish their PC’s to be taken away, in these cases we will always try to accommodate your wishes in the most cost effective manner.

How do I know if I have a virus?

The most common viruses take the form of fake antivirus software. You will receive a message on the screen telling you that your PC has been infected by some sort of virus/malware/Trojan. You will then normally be encouraged to download a tool which claims to be able to save your PC from this and many other infections. In reality the antivirus alerts are fake and will ultimate try to scare the user into paying for a professional version of the software. Do not under any circumstances do this as you may be handing your credit card details over to fraudsters.

Other viruses will deliberately slow down your PC to a crawl, can generate many pop up adverts and can even block access to your favourite websites. If you notice any of these symptoms then please get in touch with us for advice.
