Home PC’s versus Business PC’s
A typical office PC is different to the budget home based PC’s that you find in the likes of PC World and Currys. Office PC’s tend to come with a business version of Windows such as XP Professional or Vista Business. These versions of Windows are more expensive but allow PC’s to communicate over a Windows domain network and is strongly recommended for any environment where a server is required or may be required in the future.
Microsoft Office
Generally a copy of Microsoft Office would be required on each PC to give you Word, Excel, Outlook and Powerpoint as a minimum. Microsoft Office is a commercial package and rarely comes bundled with a new PC, the cost of this package alone is usually around £160.
